Why is it special?

Il nostro Cosmopolitan è vivace e irresistibile. Vodka Altamura, i sentori agrumati del limone ed infine il cranberry, dolce e aspro allo stesso tempo, si uniscono al profumo unico del liquore all’arancia Cointreau in un perfetto equilibrio di note fruttate. Il suo iconico rosa non passa mai inosservato. Glamour, sofisticato e divertente, diventa il vero protagonista di serate chic e momenti molto… cosmo.

La storia del cocktail: il Cosmopolitan

Il “Cosmo” è sicuramente uno dei modern classics più famosi e non è un caso se compare nel best seller di Candace Bushnell che ha poi ispirato il telefilm Sex and the City, in cui un gruppo di amiche ama sorseggiare questo cocktail per brindare alle disavventure, ma anche ai momenti speciali, da ricordare.
Le sue radici affondano addirittura nel lontano 1927 in Scozia, seppur con una versione molto diversa da quella attuale, la cui paternità è ancora piuttosto incerta.
Qualcuno afferma che sia stato creato nel 1988 all’Odeon di New York dalla mente creativa di Toby Cecchini, qualcuno invece attribuisce la paternità di questo meraviglioso cocktail alla bartender dello Strand a South Beach, Cheryl Cook.
Qualsiasi sia la verità, non possiamo negare che a rendere popolare il drink siano state due donne: la cantante Madonna, a cui venne servito il cocktail dal grande Dale Degroff al Rainbow Room di New York City e, in seguito, Carrie Bradshaw, il personaggio principale della serie “Sex and the city”, la quale spesso racconta aneddoti della propria vita bevendo Cosmopolitan.
